Wisteria Panel

If anyone is still checking in on my website – and it seems by the stats they are! – then hopefully this blog post will be read. Does anybody want this Wisteria panel? There is very little stitching on it, but it is very obviously a textile piece, with layers of translucent fabrics put onto a painted synthetic base. There is a blog post about it from March 2020, if you want to look back. The piece is large – 40cm x 100cm – and it is looking for a new home. We are moving out of our cottage at some stage this year and I don’t want to take it with me to the next house – wherever that might be! If you would like it – free of charge of course – please contact me and we can arrange collection or drop off. Dust and cobwebs thrown in as a bonus!

  1. Hi Elaine, I think your wisteria panel is beautiful but no doubt it has found a very grateful home by now. If not, I am donating some of my art work to a worthy fund raising cause in our village in rural
Northamptonshire and I know it would be very gratefully received as well. HS2, who are causing amok around here, were going to fully fund a much needed play park for our village but with the problems with our economy they can’t fully fund it any more so our community is attempting to raise it ourselves.

Thank you very much for reading this

    1. Hello Ginny,
Thank you for reading the post and responding to it. I would be very pleased to donate the panel to your fundraising, in fact, last year I sold a lot of my textile work at a garden event at our home and raised money for Cancer Research. The piece is large, but light, and I have worked out it will cost under £10 to wrap and post. I don’t know whether that will deter you from wanting the panel, but I am more than happy to send it to you.

      Kind regards,

      Elaine

      1. Hi Elaine, I really appreciate your kindness, thank you. I have only just realised that it a wooden, am I right? The sale that I was keen for it be included in is dedicated to textiles unfortunately. I’m so sorry to have wasted your time. I can’t believe there isn’t someone out there wanting it.

Good luck and thank you again.

      2. Hi Ginny, Just to confirm, my panel is definitely textile – painted synthetic velvet, with layers of printed organza and sheer fabrics. Then soldering iron used, plus a few hand stitches. That is mounted onto pelmet vilene, which in turn is attached to a canvas frame. So light, but large. Up to you if you would like it as we are moving house, hence finding a home for lots of pieces, but understand if the postage is an issue.

        Kind regards,

        Elaine

      3. Hi Elaine, thanks very much but having seen the work I contributed has only been sold for £5 and £10, I wouldn’t want to waste your time packing and shipping your panel and then not raise any funds once shipping cost has been paid. It’s also a bit of an insult to you I feel. I’m sure you can find a more worthwhi
