Not normally one to use pictures of myself on this blog, I thought I would include this as the source of inspiration for some potato printing I’ve been doing today with a group of friends. We had seen Grayson Perry printing a travel poster on his recent Channel 4 Art Club programme and he had used the humble potato as his printing method. I include my practise piece below, rushed because we had run out of time for the printing as the carving took so long! So issues with the spacing, the clarity of the images and the smudging – but a fun piece nevertheless. Not sure how long the potato blocks will ‘last’ so hopefully will get to do some more printing in the next couple of days.
