JOLLIETEXTILES

This isn’t a new piece, rather something I found in my ‘velvet’ box which I thought should be mounted up as it’s long and thin and not useful for anything in particular. It’s made on a black synthetic velvet base, with applied shapes in silk velvet. I have then free machined some details, using cable stitch for the flower centres.

I am currently sorting through lots of pieces that are suitable for mounting in the hope that later in the summer I can hold a charity event, selling some of my large collection of pictures, cards and samples to raise money for a worthwhile cause. The plan is to hold the event outside – ‘Textiles In The Garden’ – but until we are clearer about whether such things can go ahead I cannot name the day or advertise. The thought would be near the end of August, and if not then, probably April/May next year.
