I spent rather a lot of time today attempting a ‘textile’ wedding card, sewing an awful lot of beads and sequins onto a wedding cake made of scraps of quilted fabric sandwich. I even painted little bits of lace to trim – the whole thing looked a mess! So this afternoon I sat down with my watercolour paints and made two cards – one big, one small – but essentially the same, on some nice quality paper. I now have two pretty cards, one I’m going to chop into a gift tag (above) and the other will be the card proper – if I can find a suitable envelope. Or I guess I can make one!
