I am trying to build up some coastal elements – pebbles and plants – in a variety of separate little pieces, with a view to combining them in some way. It’s really just an excuse to experiment and a good way to use up some of my materials. Here I have stencilled some Xpandaprint through a stencil onto some lightweight lutradur, which had already been coloured blue with some transfer inks. I then painted the puffed up Xpandaprint and zapped with a heat gun. I did the same thing with some heavy weight Lutradur, which was white to begin with, and coloured this gently with some watered down acrylic paint. Used in small amounts I quite like this as I think it looks rather like moulded paper.
