I found yet another unfinished piece the other day and thought I would machine some simple stitching and then add it into a large sketchbook of samples that I am currently compiling. I started this at a Creative Stitch workshop several years ago, on a class run by Karen Frost. It was a great workshop and several members of the group produced lovely pieces based on birds and flowers. I can’t remember much about the technique – except that we used old Saga magazines – but even if I could recall, it was Karen’s own method and I am sure she has used it and developed it since. To finish it I simply outlined the paper shapes with coloured thread. The picture below shows more clearly the way the magazine pieces were torn to create the lemons and leaves.
