The blossom on all the trees has been beautiful so far this year, particularly the flowers on the blackthorn. There’s also some lovely blossom on the greengage and damson trees in our garden, but this photograph was taken yesterday in the evening light and shows a wonderful wild cherry a short distance from our cottage. I spent a while today using the simple white blossom as inspiration for a cloth scroll.
I looked for a poem or quote and this is what I stitched around the blossoms:-
What a strange thing! to be alive beneath the cherry blossoms.
