Coastal Path Mosaic

I am posting two pictures of some work in progress – a mosaic project led by Pat Dennis at our Creative Stitch group. I have just finished the fabric stage, having previously transferred my design to the calico background, painted it and then applied all my tiny fabric pieces. Photographing now in case my stitching spoils the overall effect! The plan is to anchor all the bondawebbed pieces with machine stitching, probably not on a padded interfacing as I don’t want a quilted effect. I have thoroughly enjoyed designing this piece and have made a stencil from the original design – coastal path, sea and stylized thrift – to be used in other projects.
