Christmas Wreath

DSC01461.JPG

Every year, for the past twenty five years no less, my dear friend Maggie and I have got together to make our Christmas wreaths.  We have made large, small, gaudy, rustic and sparkly – this year we both went for understated. Although I couldn’t resist a bit of bling with my butterfly as I have been so inspired by them this year!  We collect greenery from our gardens, make a big pile on the floor and then select what we need to produce something that we can enjoy hanging on our front doors. The pheasant’s feathers were this year’s addition, usually there’s a flamboyant bow or (in Maggie’s case) the liberal use of some gold spray. I’m not sure we’re any more skilled at making them after all these years but each time is just as much fun and we both get to produce something highly individual.
