This is the ugly patched piece I produced the other day, my intention always being to stamp on it and then draw some images on top with my sewing machine – maybe butterflies and wild flowers. After stencilling on some foliage I still didn’t like it so I covered the whole thing over with a transfer printed scarf and it took on an oriental feel. A shiny moon and some of my favourite tiny sequins meant that even with some simple hand stitching the entire sample was finished in two hours!
