My name is Elaine Archer and I am interested in all forms of creative embroidery and mixed media. I enjoy both hand stitching and machine embroidery but particularly like creating textural surfaces for stitch. I’m also partial to a bit of glitz! Inspiration comes from the Suffolk countryside where I live but also from the beautiful scenery of Britain’s coastal paths. I have previously been a member of two exhibiting groups, Strands and Raw Edge, but at the moment am enjoying developing my own work. Jollietextiles is my opportunity to share what I love doing – stitching, painting and drawing.

I take so many pictures of thrift (Armeria maritima) on our coastal walk – I love the colour, particularly when I photograph it on the cliff edge and there’s the blue sky or sea behind.
